Thank you to all AMA Victoria members for your tireless efforts and courage in preparing for and managing the COVID-19 pandemic for Victoria.

Thank you also for contacting AMA Victoria with your feedback which informs our advocacy to state and federal governments.  The stunning series of changes we’ve seen to the Australian Medicare system in recent weeks is an example of what can be achieved when we work together. These changes have created a more responsive and flexible system that can meet the needs of patients and providers during the COVID-19 crisis. All AMA members must be congratulated for their advocacy efforts to achieve these swift and necessary reforms to the system.

Please continue to provide us with feedback on the issues you are facing. We know there can sometimes be delays in getting back to you - due to the sheer numbers of members making contact but don’t be discouraged. Your feedback is important.   Every email is read, each phone call is important. What are we hearing?

Members have relayed their concerns to AMA Victoria about personal protective equipment, efficient and reliable testing, dedicated sites for testing, safe practices in general practice, tele-health, item numbers, industrial relations, communication channels, funding, resources and infrastructure and the need for more clarity around when doctors should not see patients.  

There have also been issues raised around human resources, supplies, support and infrastructure.
