AMA Victoria meets Deakin students

In early February,  Deakin University Medical School hosted its second annual ‘meet and greet’ as part of Orientation week events at its Geelong Campus in Waurn Ponds.

Representatives from AMA Victoria attended and  met the more than 100 first year students who were keen to learn the benefits of the organisation and what is offered to students who sign up for a free membership.

Interest was shown in AMA Victoria seminars, advice was sought on courses and what they would expect when they had hospital placements.

A number of questions were also asked on work-life balance.

Second year students were also present and welcomed the new students by offering advice and knowledge on how best to prepare for their new life as a medical student.

AMA Victoria looks forward to working closely with the Deakin University Medical School this year and assisting the students with advice and effective representation.
