Welcome to the first edition of e-student news

Welcome to this first edition of e-student news, the online version of vicdoc, specially created for Victoria’s medical students.

As with the printed edition of vicdoc, it will appear in 11 editions a year, with no edition in January when many students are away.

Contents include articles specially written for students, many by students, and a selection of articles and pictures from the printed edition of vicdoc that are of relevance or interest to students.

The decision to produce a special student edition of vicdoc followed considerable research into the needs and wishes of students. It was found that many students prefer the convenience of an online edition.

Being an online edition, the restrictions of print media are also avoided. Articles are not confined to strict space limitations and more pictures can be used.

Copies of the print edition of vicdoc will be available at each university for those who prefer that format.

As well as our regular correspondents from the campuses, any student is welcome to make a contribution to e-student news. It is through your feedback and contributions that this online magazine can best meet your needs.
