AMA Victoria welcomed more than 200 medical graduates to celebrate their new career at the recent receptions held at AMA House.
Graduates and their partners were welcomed by MC and Doctors in Training Subdivision representatives Dr Rob Mitchell and Dr Stewart Morrison. Rob and Stewart gave the new interns much to think about as they detailed their experiences as interns and what the new recruits could expect when they began their first rotations on 11 January.
AMA Victoria President Dr Harry Hemley was also on hand to congratulate the graduates who scored the highest aggregate score at their respective university – Dr Jennifer Nagao (Melbourne) and Dr Emily Woolnough (Monash). Both doctors received a $1,000 cheque from AMA Victoria for their outstanding results.
A highlight of the functions was the prize draw for interns who joined AMA Victoria before or on the night. The winners were:
