AHPRA Registration Renewal by 30 SeptemberMedical practitioners must renew their medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) by 30 September 2011. Women in Medicine Ballarat - a success!Ballarat intern, Dr Jessica Robinson, attended the Women in Medicine event on Wednesday night where speakers Ms Ruth Bollard and Dr Deepika Monga shared their stories and wisdom with other local doctors and medical students. Jessica's feedback sums the evening up perfectly, 'The Ballarat AMA Women in Medicine event on Wednesday night was a true feast of ideas and inspiration, with two speakers - Ms Ruth Bollard (Director of Surgery at Ballarat Health Services) and Dr Deepika Monga (Consultant Obstetrictian and Gynaecologist) - generously headlining the evening's celebration of Women in Medicine. Amongst delicious canapes and wine, Ms Bollard and Dr Monga shared their stories of challenge and success, contextualising just how far woman have come in the practice of medicine while demonstrating there is some distance yet to travel with women remaining vastly under-represented as fellows of specialist colleges and in professorial roles.
